Robert Shields started Shields Build & Renovate in 2021. We're a family-owned shop based in Saint Clair Shores, and we've spent the last five years building additions, kitchen and bath remodels, porches, and new construction across Macomb County and the Grosse Pointes.
Our shop is at 22004 Kramer in Saint Clair Shores, and we work within a roughly 25-mile radius. That covers Saint Clair Shores, the four Grosse Pointe communities, Clinton Township, Harrison Township, Macomb Township, Chesterfield Township, Warren, Fraser, and Roseville. Outside that radius? Yes — Shields Build & Renovate is fully licensed (license #242101094), bonded, and insured. We carry general liability and workers' compensation coverage on every job.
Yes — permit management is part of our scope. We pull the required building, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical permits, coordinate the inspections, and handle the back-and-forth with the city or township. You don't deal with the permit office. We do.
